Sri Lanka’s Lahiru Achintha Wins Gold in Boys’ 1500m at Asian Youth Games 2025

Sri Lanka’s Lahiru Achintha delivered a stellar performance at the Asian Youth Games 2025 in Bahrain, capturing the gold medal in the Boys’ 1500m event on Thursday. Achintha clocked a personal best time of 3 minutes and 57.42 seconds to secure first place.

China’s Luhiu Sha claimed the silver medal, while Hong Kong’s Ho Chun Au earned the bronze.

In the Girls’ 1500m race, Sri Lanka’s Nethmi Gimhani also reached the podium, winning the bronze medal with a time of 4 minutes and 52.32 seconds.
