Sri Lanka recorded 50,222 international tourist arrivals in December so far, according to data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
India remained the island nation’s largest source market for the month, accounting for 10,453 visitors, or 21% of total arrivals. This was followed by Russia with 5,420 visitors, Germany with 4,822, the United Kingdom with 3,823, and France with 2,627 arrivals.
With the latest December figures included, total tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka in 2025 have reached 2,153,815, reflecting a continued recovery in the country’s tourism sector.
India leads annual arrivals with 485,249 visitors, followed by the United Kingdom with 195,565, Russia with 164,013, Germany with 136,081, China with 124,298, and France with 103,307, the SLTDA reported.
