Sri Lanka Ranked Among World’s Top Culinary Destinations in 2025 by Condé Nast Traveler

Sri Lanka has been recognized as one of the world’s premier food destinations, earning the 7th place in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2025 for the World’s Best Food.

With an impressive score of 95.56%, Sri Lanka outshone several iconic culinary destinations, including Türkiye, France, Morocco, Colombia, the Maldives, South Africa, and Greece.

According to the publication, “Sri Lanka is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Dishes are packed with a thrilling blend of spice, color, and plenty of coconut — and look no further than Pettah Market in Colombo to indulge yourself.”

The magazine further noted that much of Sri Lankan cuisine is rooted in home-cooking traditions, passed down through generations, giving the island’s dishes their distinctive warmth and authenticity.
