Sri Lanka’s Department of Examinations announced that all preparations are complete for the 2025 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination, which begins tomorrow (November 10). The exam will be conducted across 2,362 centers nationwide and will continue until December 5.
A total of 345,525 students are scheduled to sit for the examination this year, including 246,521 school candidates and 94,004 private candidates. To support smooth administration, 325 coordination centers and 32 divisional paper collection centers have been established throughout the country.
In anticipation of potential adverse weather conditions, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) has launched a special joint program with the Department of Examinations to ensure that students can attend the exam without disruption. The initiative includes emergency support for students affected by floods, landslides, or other natural events.
Students facing difficulties due to disaster-related circumstances are advised to contact emergency hotlines 117 or 1911. Additional assistance is available through the National Examination Emergencies Operations Unit via 0113 668 026, 0113 668 032, 0113 668 087, and 0113 668 119, which are managed from the DMC’s Emergency Operations Room.
