Jaffna university missing undergraduates rescued. Sri Lanka police, SL Army and villagers launched a rescue operation to locate 9 missing Jaffna university medical faculty students deep inside Muththiyankattu forest reserve. Team managed to rescue all of them safely this morning.

9 member team of undergrads, on a study tour while walking deep inside the forest reserve were reportedly lost their way on July 15. On being informed by the officials for rescue assistance, several rescue team including villagers rushed to the dense jungle and managed to locate the exact location and reached affected undergrads who had lost their way in the jungles.

The rescue team after locating those went missing returned to the Oddusudan Police Station and formally handed over the undergraduates to the Oddusudan Police Station this morning (July 16).
