Sri Lanka University Rankings Latest World Best Universities name list

Three Sri Lankan universities are appeared among the top 2,000 universities in 2023 / 2024 global university rankings according to the latest university rankings released. The government’s objective is to add more local universities among the top 2,000 universities list in the world.

“Webometrics” new university ranking released. Webometrics released 2023 Sri Lankan state & Private Universities, Campuses and Higher Education Institutes World Rankings new edition.

According to the newly released 2023 edition, Colombo University has again become Sri Lanka’s best university again passing Peradeniya University. Colombo university is ranked 1485 th place in the world. Few years ago, Colombo University and Moratuwa university dominated the point tables but last three years Peradeniya campus topped the ranking table.

This year Peradeniya University secured second place while Sri Jayewardenepura University listed as 3rd place. Moratuwa University ranked as number 4th. Ruhuna Campus dropped to number 5 & Kelaniya University dropped to No: 6th place while Rajarata University jumped to 7th Place. Jaffna University has ranked as 8th Place.

When compared to world ranking, we are still far away (1485) but not improved than last year.
