The presentation of appointments to graduates recruited under the national program of recruiting 50,000 unemployed graduates to the State sector jobs scheduled to begin on March 1 and the appointment letters will be issued via District Secretaries, Sri Lanka Higher Education Minister Dr.Bandula Gunawardena said.
Speaking at the Cabinet Media Briefing at the Government Information Department , Minister Dr. Gunawardane said the newly recruited graduates will be subjected to a year’s training period till March 1 next year.
The Cabinet approved the proposal made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in line with his election pledge to implement the programme of recruiting 50,000 unemployed graduates to the state sector.
After completing their training period, they are to be attached to the institutions in rural or remote areas under the Central Government and the provincial government they have given consent to serve.
A payment of Rs.20,000 will be provided to them and they won’t be able to transfer till they complete five years from their appointments.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Dullas Alahapperuma says Presidential Secretariat posted appointment letters to 40,000 unemployed graduates yesterday (28). Accordingly, Minister Alahapperuma pointed out that the unemployed graduates who are protesting before the Fort Railway Station and Liptons Circus can consider their issues properly addressed.
