All-Island School Games 2025 at Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium Diyagama

The All-Island School Games – 2025 will be held grandly at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium, Diyagama, from October 10 to 14, 2025, under the patronage of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, according to Secretary to the Ministry of Education Mr. Nalaka Kaluwawa, who announced this at a media briefing.

This will be the 38th occasion on which the tournament is being held. Arrangements have been made to conduct 31 team events as well as track and field competitions during the games. After the inter-house sports meets held within schools, students who display exceptional talent at the zonal, divisional, and provincial levels will qualify to participate in the All-Island competitions.

It is expected that approximately fifteen thousand schoolchildren from across the island will take part in the team events this year, while around five thousand athletes are expected to participate in the track and field competitions. A total of 1,170 schools will be represented at this event, where victorious athletes will be awarded trophies, medals, and certificates.

Participating in this media briefing were Additional Secretary to the Ministry Ms. Udara T. Dikkumbura, Director Mr. G. G. Anura Abeywickrama, and several other officials.
