According to Examinations Department sources 337,704 candidates sat the G.C.E A/L Examination held this year from August 5 to 31 in 2,678 examination centres islandwide. Of them 4,789 candidates sat the exams as private candidates. Of the total number, 244,146 candidates sat the examinations under the old syllabus and 198,229 candidates sat under the new syllabus.

The results of the G.C.E. A/L Examination 2019 were released online on Friday (27).

The reports said a total of 181,126 candidates are eligible for university entrance. Meanwhile, the results of 71 candidates have been suspended. The closing date for re-corrections is January 17, 2020. Therefore, applications to scrutinize 2019 A/L results should be forwarded to the Examinations Department before that date.
