Sri Lanka recorded total tourism earnings of US$2,659 million from January to October 2025, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL). Earnings for October alone amounted to US$186.1 million.
The CBSL noted that this reflects a 4.9% increase compared to the US$2,533.7 million earned during the same period in 2024, underscoring continued recovery and growth in the tourism sector.
Latest data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) shows that 1,972,957 tourists visited the country between January and November 12, 2025. India remained the largest source market with 443,622 arrivals, followed by the United Kingdom (180,592), Russia (144,308), Germany (123,053), and China (115,400).
Between November 1 and 12 alone, Sri Lanka welcomed 82,270 international visitors, reflecting sustained momentum ahead of the peak travel season.
