Sri Lanka continues to see strong growth in its tourism sector, with 153,063 international visitors recorded between October 1 and 29, 2025, according to the latest data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
India remained the leading source market during this period, contributing 44,741 arrivals—accounting for 29.2% of total visitors. The United Kingdom followed with 12,128 tourists, while Russia (10,450), China (10,408), Germany (8,950), and Australia (7,226) rounded out the top six.
From January 1 to October 29, 2025, Sri Lanka welcomed a total of 1,878,557 tourists. Among them, 420,033 visitors were from India, 174,021 from the United Kingdom, and 132,594 from Russia, underscoring the island nation’s growing appeal among key global markets.
