Sri Lanka’s Inflation Rises to 2.1% in October 2025

Sri Lanka’s overall inflation, measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, rose to 2.1% in October 2025, up from 1.5% in September, according to the Department of Census and Statistics (DCS).

The CCPI for all items increased slightly to 193.8 in October from 193.7 the previous month.

Food inflation accelerated to 3.5% in October from 2.9% in September, while non-food inflation edged up to 1.4% from 0.7%.

The DCS reported that food items contributed 1.12 percentage points to the overall inflation rate, with non-food items accounting for 0.95 percentage points.
