Sri Lankan Government to Launch Recruitment Drive for Over 8,500 Public Sector Vacancies

The Government of Sri Lanka has approved a major recruitment initiative to fill 8,547 vacancies across various departments and state institutions.

This decision follows recommendations from a committee chaired by the Secretary to the Prime Minister, which was established last year to assess staffing requirements within the public sector. Based on the committee’s findings and requests from relevant institutions, the Prime Minister submitted a Cabinet paper proposing the recruitment process, which has now received official Cabinet approval.
